Pog-onow

The Pog-onow foundation is responsible for facilitating the socio-economic programs as well as the medical and healthcare programs. Pog-onow exists to aid in freeing the Manobo people from spiritual, socio-political, economic, and educational poverty giving them the chance to maintain a sustainable quality of life.

To see Manobo people that are actively involved in the political arena; established Food Processing Plants, Agro-industrial plants; promoting cultural dances, songs, music and instruments; established schools of all levels; established Pog-onow consulting firm; established Hospitals with complete facilities and staff; established Radio/Cable stations produced by Manobo journalists.

There are also many short term goals that are now becoming reality such as political involvment and several agricultural, educational, and economical projects that are being met with varying degrees of success.

Pog-onow Projects:

  • Water Projects – To get clean and healthy drinking water into villages by providing them with a well.
  • Healthcare- To provide information to the Manobo regarding nutrition and health, to make medicine readily and affordably available in each village, and to provide ways to get medical care.
  • Agriculture Projects – Helps them to gain the technology and knowledge to run a farm efficiently.
  • Piggeries and Goat Farms – Provides a livelihood project by supplying them with livestock to start a successful farm.
  • Reforestation – To help in replanting the trees that have been depleted by aggressive logging companies that have stripped the land and the natural resources it provided.
  • Handicraft & Garment Making – Livelihood projects that also provide cultural awareness through producing tribal crafts and garments.
